Overcoming Adversity

ONE topic each Tuesday with 2 quick thoughts, 2 quick quotes, and 2 quick actions covered in 2 minutes or less:

"The fastest way for Christian men to stay focused and get in the fight."

Topic: Overcoming Adversity

 2 Thoughts:

1. Embrace It

Understand, first and foremost, that adversity is not a sign of God's absence but an opportunity for refining you into the man God meant for you to be. It's no fun but it's the way forward. So see it for what it is and move forward.

2. Stay Hopeful

Have a perspective of hope in the midst of the adversity you're facing. Remember that God works all things for the good of those who love Him (Romans 8:28). Let your hope in God sustain you.

2 Quotes:

"I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world, you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world." - John 16:33

"Adversity is the diamond dust Heaven polishes its jewels with." - Thomas Carlyle

2 Actions:

1. Be Consistent With Prayer & Reflection

Dedicate intentional time to prayer and reflection during times of adversity. Seek God's guidance, strength, and wisdom to help you navigate your way through your challenges. Consistently doing these things BEFORE adversity hits will be especially helpful during these times.

2. Stay Connected To Community

Stay close to your Christian community for support and encouragement. Don't isolate or hide. Instead, share your struggles and allow others to come alongside you in prayer and practical help. It's easier to give but its important to also receive in times like these.
